AU: Your Future Was Me [@ivananddmitri]
Natasha shakes her head, brushing her hair back from her face as its dislodged at the movement. She should tie it back, but she’s a little too comfortable at the moment to move. There’s a heaviness in her limbs, accompanying the ache, that usually causes her pulse to race at the potential for an attack she isn’t fully ready for - but Ivan’s words soothe her slightly. This is a vacation. They’re as safe as they can be. “Not at all. You can share it all - but you think too much, мой волк.” She draws herself from the bed, languid and satisfied, and heads to the window. The surrounding area is peaceful, and as she sees the lights flicker to life in the still water of the pool, she has an idea. That will ease her mind at least. She turns to Ivan, a simple silhouette in the dusk, and she smiles. “An evening swim?”
For several silent seconds, Ivan simply took in the sight of her, in awe of her as always. ‘No matter how many times he had been privileged to it over the years, Natalia’s sheer, unbridled beauty would had always stood out as the greatest he’d ever beheld, and ever would. Rising from the bed to join her, he pressed his lips against hers in a kiss that felt hungry for her, for he could never have enough. It was many a second before he pulled away at last and nodded in response to her suggestion. “A swim sounds like a lovely idea.”
As the kiss ends, Natasha finds herself curved against Ivan once more, one hand resting on his chest as she disentangles the fingers of the other from his hair. Her lips feel almost bruised, and she knows that the answering hunger alights her eyes. Slipping away from the warmth of Ivan’s body, the house is surprisingly cool - although the night air as she opens the patio doors is soothing. She can find the heat oppressive on occasion, but for now it’s perfect. Hearing the sound of Ivan’s footsteps behind her, soft and near soundless as they are, she turns, reaching for his hand in the solace of the moment. “Are you ready to jump?”
