Natasha climbs out too, assessing her surroundings as she is accustomed to doing. She reaches for her travelling bag, light and containing the barest of essentials. She locks the car, before coming around to Ivan. “I’ll take the back, you go in the front. I’ll meet you in the kitchen,” she murmurs, throwing the bag over her shoulder and pressing a fleeting kiss to the corner of his mouth before she strides off. It might be a safehouse, but she refuses to take any chances.

Ivan only nodded at her words, moving towards the front door. After putting in his key, he unlocked the door and cautiously stepped inside. He could not feel anyone’s presence in the immediate vicinity, but it paid to be overly cautious. After quietly closing and locking the door behind him, he moved through the house silently, each step taken very carefully. He reached the kitchen with no sign of anything being wrong. Figuring the coast was clear, he relaxed slightly and waited for Natalia to arrive.

Natasha can only sense Ivan’s presence, the light tread of his footsteps familiar to her in the most necessary of ways. She makes her way methodically through each room at the back of the house, until she makes her way into the kitchen. Dumping her bag by the door, she comes in, heading straight for the fridge. “We should have picked up wine at least… or did we leave some in the cellar?” she asks, pulling herself to sit on the kitchen counter. Her gun still sits at her hip, but she’s less on edge now that the house has been sounded out.
